My name is Earvin Lopez and I'm the owner & founder of Vegan by Victorias where we specialize in Mexican postres such as pan dulce, flan, tres leches and more! I've veganized our traditional desserts I've just removed the animal cruelty, made it vegan, and all while keeping the authenticity. I am a self taught vegan baker but I did pick up most of my skill/knowledge from working at my parents bakeries(non-vegan) as a kid being constantly reminded by my dad "te estoy enseñando algo que algún día apreciarás como un adulto." I went vegan 5yrs ago after watching several documentaries on Netflix on veganism and being told by my sister that I couldn't do it. Since then I now have my own business but will be forever thankful for my sister/business partner for always being supportive, a little skeptical at first but allowing me to use her kitchen and bakery(Victoria Bakery) to offer the then limited community of Santa Ana some of their first vegan options. I will now be able to open my very own and LAs first all Vegan Panaderia in East LA this summer 2020. My goal is to be able to provide vegan options to underserved communities while remaining affordable for our raza, showing that going vegan doesn’t mean giving up cultural traditions, and overall just spreading veganism to our Latino community, one concha at a time!
